DD Remix for the Winsinn Dual Gear Extruder
thingiverse
I wanted to downsize the footprint of my CR-6 SE so I wanted a higher spool so I wanted to go direct drive. I started remixing this file, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4701896, with the original extruder but it hated my filament, so I bought the Winsinn dual gear extruder, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SY745CF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, but then the connection and the nozzle didn't line up. After 5 different versions I'm finally printing so I figured I would post this up if anyone else needed it. Changes from the original: - Extruder bracket moved back to hold the Winsinn dual gear - Strain gauge guide moved up to properly align the MicroSwiss hotend with the extruder outlet - Added a thicker bracket for the filament runout sensor - Removed the wire loop as I had to flip the filament sensor to line up with the Winsinn (noticed after it was printed) - Added two additional holes to the runout sensor bracket to support it being flipped - Trimmed the area around the extruder gear so that you can tighten/remove the retention spring screw Bolts needed: - I used the Konton Etsy build pack for the majority of the bolts and the wires - You will need slightly longer screws for the Strain Gauge difference to ensure a tighter fit - For the extruder you'll need longer bolts from Home Depot I used - #4-40 x 1 -1/2" oval head machine screws - #4-40 machine screw nuts You'll also need to download this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4830932/comments to add the washer to adjust the strain gauge. Then reset and redo esteps. Otherwise prints do not turn out well.
