DC42 IR Sensor mount for E3D Volcano

DC42 IR Sensor mount for E3D Volcano

thingiverse

I didn't find a mount for the Escher3D's IR sensor on my E3D Volcano, so I created one now. It fits between the fan and the shroud of the E3D cooler. Still need to test it myself; it should be 2mm above the nozzle. I modified the initial design a bit to optimize it for printing with a 0.6mm Volcano nozzle. Testing is complete. To assemble, mount the fan shroud flush with the lowest fin of the cooler. Since I got several questions about the sensor/config/board, here are some details: in configuration.h, 'const bool Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_INVERTING = false;' ... '#define AUTO_BED_LEVELING_FEATURE' ... '#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 // to be adapted to your situation' ... '#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -15' '#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -2' ... '#define FIX_MOUNTED_PROBE'. I used the probe on Marlin RC6 and an MKS GEN V1.4 board, which is RAMPS compatible. See the doc for probe details at https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/mini-height-sensor-board/. Print Settings: Printer: FT5 Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 20% Notes: Printed in PET with a 0.6mm nozzle; see picture for settings.
