True sander is a great tool, but a bit expensive and I wished for certain features. So I made my own. Mine has a locking pusher, to make it possible to brace your sanded item better with fingers, or to push a bit more evenly, a bit of space between the sanded item and the paper surface to allow more material to move out of the way. The sanding block has a road to follow, to keep the sanding action direct, front to back, and to disallow departure from the board. The locking pusher can be removed, to accommodate the included push block. And there is storage for whichever block you aren't using at the time. Works pretty well to sand down bits of styrene and wood precisely. The sand paper is cut to fit and attached to the block using double sided tape, just as on the True sander. Future expansions may include a locking adjustable angle, at least at 45 degrees, and a block to put inside the ends of the sanding block to eliminate the need for double sided tape. Hope you enjoy this little project of mine. Print as the .stl's are presented, for best results. Also, print the base with significant fill and top layers to increase longevity. A bit of silicone oil in the guide will smooth the action considerably. Have fun!
