Dayton Audio, ND908 (Aura Sound NS3-193-8A (1)) Loudspeaker prototype version 1.
thingiverse
This is a loudspeaker using the Aura sound NS3-193-8A 3" speaker. Found an direct replacement driver: Dayton Audio, ND908 31/2" Aluminum Cone FullRange Driver 8 Ohm, available at parts-express and ebay... This is also a test... to try to answer if I can make a reasonable good sounding speaker 3D printed... So this is finished. I have a few improvements I will do in version 2... One might be to use a more available speaker element... But I have a few just lying about so I use them... This is a common bas-reflex speaker. With a goal to be easy to print. Only the baffle need support. And that is because I recessed the speaker and make a rounded edge on the bas-reflex tubes.. I'll added a baffle without this if you wish to avoid any supports. Things needed that can not be printed: Wood screws 3x15mm Screws for tin 3.5x9.5mm Banana sockets Dampening material 15x18cm aprox. 5-7 cm thick ~ 50% fill. Just make sure the vents are free. No obstructions closer than 2 times the diameter of the vent (in this case then no closer than 3 cm). I printed all with the inside down except the baffle that was printed with the outside down and thus required some support. There is also a front version that do not require support if that is a prio... Added a internal support pillar to stiffen the sides... I use Latex filler to seal the box. Just put a very small string before screwing the parts together and remove the excess immediately. (on the outside... inside I care less )
