Day 21: The snowman

The Legend of Hans Snowman It's been a long time in Finland, where dense forests towered high in the far north, their towering firs coveted by loggers who surrounded villages with a promise of prosperity. Yet, during winter months, these firs produced gold sap that was highly sought after! These prized trees were strongly coveted by ruthless loggers, but they were protected by a giant snowman named Hans. It happened on the night of December 21st, when a fierce snowstorm rolled in and an army of lumberjacks descended upon the forest with axes at the ready. They aimed to cut down the trees, but Hans stood in their way. The loggers tried to weaken him, but Hans held firm. Then they resumed their work. As each tree fell to the ground, a fierce storm swept through, covering fallen trees with a thick layer of snow that allowed them to recover. This cycle repeated itself for days on end, with the storm showing no signs of abating. The loggers, tired and frozen to the bone, eventually abandoned their futile struggle. Hans, wounded by the hatchets of the lumberjacks, bore the scars of this battle but never needed to defend the forest again in winter. Instead, he preferred to play among the trees.
