DaVinci's catapult #01

I will replicate DaVinci's catapult while maintaining its original geometry. I made a small modification to the loading mechanism of the spring arm, replacing the worm shaft with a gear connected to a string. Before attaching the gear to the frame, the wire is wound around it. Pulling the string loads the spring arm, and releasing it lets the arm release energy while the gear retrieves the wire (similar to a chainsaw starter). I plan to use FDM printing with PLA or ABS for all components except the spring arm, which will be printed in flexible Nylon12. Here's a rewritten version of your text: To reproduce DaVinci's catapult while preserving its geometry, I altered the spring arm loading mechanism. Instead of a worm shaft, there's now a gear connected to a string, which is wound around it before attaching to the frame. Pulling the string loads the spring arm, and releasing it lets it release energy as the gear retrieves the wire (like a chainsaw starter). I plan to print this model using FDM technology with PLA or ABS for all parts except the spring arm, which will be made of flexible Nylon12.
