I decided to make a remix instead of a revision. The pictures of the black and yellow carriage are of my remix. I started printing it in black ABS and when it reached 100 layers I paused the printer and removed the black ABS and shoved in the yellow ABS and resumed the print. I removed the belt clamp and the 2 holes for the screws. I added a 60mm long slide in belt clamp along the downward facing linear bearing housing. No more screws. Since my slide in clamp is 60mm’s long I can use it to splice a belt so I don’t need the endless belt anymore. I can use an open ended belt and splice it in my clamp. 2GT-6. I reversed the screw holes for the E3D clamp. Now I can unscrew the clamp from the front. The 3mm brass inserts go into the main body now instead of into the clamp. You will need a 3mm screw that is at least 35mm’s long to set the brass inserts into the carriage. I added a T slot for the X axes optical sensor stop. And the optical sensor stop itself. I lengthened the cable chain stand off and I made it kind of a popsicle shape. And I added a slot for the popsicle stick in the main body of the carriage. It is a friction fit, no tools to get it in or out and it stays in place. I used 2 wire terminals for the heater and T/C, and 2 plug in connectors for the 2 fans, hot end and layer. It is pretty quick to get the carriage out now. Unscrew the heater and T/C, unplug the 2 fans, pull out the popsicle stick cable chain mount and the Bowden tube and the carriage will come out. https://youtu.be/v-D_V-LHVLg There are 5 files. The main carriage body, the E3D clamp, an E3D 30mm fan shroud, the stand off cable chain mount, the optical sensor flag and the layer fan mounting arm on a common brim. I printed these in ABS at 50% infill.
