Spools mount on the rear of printers. Other designs exist, but I wanted one incorporating a filament guide within the same piece. This ensures the guide remains securely attached at all times. Fits standard spools with a 2-inch diameter. The width is ideal for fitting between fins inside the back panel, requiring careful alignment. Watch this video: https://youtu.be/zRUPfSDkC-M Edit: A new piece was added on September 11, 2016, providing a separate filament guide not attached to the spool holder. After purchasing two Da Vinci 1.0a printers, I discovered a cutout in the back allowing for secure filament attachment (not available on AiO models). The cutout enables tight attachment of the filament guide by sliding the small protrusion into the slot and pushing down until it clicks in place. This configuration ensures a secure fit, requiring some force to slide it in. On the inside of the printer, run the filament through the large rectangular slot instead of using holes resembling filament attachments. This setup prevents filament from being pushed back during prints, reducing tangles around the spool. Minor improvements were made to the spool holder and are available in "Spool Holder - Rear 2." November 7, 2016: Pictures were added showing how the filament guide attaches to the Da Vinci 1.0 printer, featuring a notch for easy sliding in.
