These parts, along with a Bowden PTFE bulkhead connector, a short piece of PTFE Tube, and a rear-mounted spool holder, provide low-friction filament feed from the Filament Spool to the Extruder Pinch Rollers. The spool holder itself is not included; instead, several rear-mounted XYZprinting DaVinci spool holders are listed on Thingiverse, including Thing 583800. Print Settings: Printer: XYZprinting Davinci 1.0 Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3mm Infill: 25% How I Designed This Problem: Filaments were cutting into the spool holder and feed hole in the back of the printer, causing issues with filament alignment after about a thousand hours of printing. The problem was traced to an elongated groove cut into the rear plastic plate that aligns the filament with the Pinch Rollers. Solution: Design a replacement plate for the Filament Feed Guide to Pinch Rollers. Instead of allowing the filament to rub on the feed guide, install a Bowden Tube Connector in the Filament Feed Guide Plate where the Filament Feed Hole formerly existed. From this connector, install a short length of PTFE tubing, routing it to the filament spool area. Installation: Print Parts: Print the two parts contained in this thing: Filament Guide Plate and Filament Guide Retainer Clamp. Unload Filament using the front panel utility menu. Remove the existing Filament Guide Plate and the small plastic plate containing the eyelets designed to position the filament. Install a PTFE Connector in the Filament Guide Plate, tapping the hole with a 5mm tap and drill bit. Tap only three full threads into the hole. Install New Filament Guide Plate: Place the new plate in the location of the previous one. Secure it using the Filament Guide Plate Clamp and two #4-20 steel screws for plastic. Cut a PTFE tube to the required length, aligning it with the filament as it unspools.
