Because I couldn't find anything to install a double din stereo into the Datsun 280zx using the stock mounts I created this. It's not pretty but it's a start for now since my application is in my race/show car. I recommend printing with 2 line thickness for your walls and an infill from 10-25% to save on time and materials while keeping the strength up when screwing any bolts in, or working on the skin. You'll need to print the base upside down without supports and the frame around the double din was printed flat on the back side without supports too. If you want the alternate version for a usb and cigarette lighter hub I picked up from AutoZone, then you'll need to print with supports only to the bedplate. When installing the pieces to the car you may want to fit the two prints together so that it's easer push back and squeeze the base around the metal in the car. I had first test fitted the base alone in the car and it was hard to get a good grip. Start by aligning the front and sliding it back. At some point you may need to pick up the back of the base to go over the metal if it catches. Unless your print snaps, don't worry about pushing the base harder more until the holes align. Again it was very tight at first, but once it was stretched, I was able to remove and reinstall the whole thing with ease the second time. Hardware used were Stock bolts to mount the base the metal in the car. M5x10 bolt for the sides on the frame into the stereo. M6x25 and M6x35 bolts for the front and back holes respectively to mount the two 3d prints together. The M6 bolts were used because I thought I would need bigger bolts that what an M5 was, but after printing my first versions, I forgot to fix the holes to make them all M5 sized. Also the M6x25 bolt size is a must so that it can sit flush in it's hole due to metal being below the prints. Unless you drill out the metal you may run into problems going any longer than that. The front M6x35 bolts won't run into anything. One last thing to note for it's placement is because I wanted the stereo to sit as close to it's stock position as possible. The angle was necessary to allow the stereo to be more functional due to glare during the day and the angle being too sharp from my own view point. I wish to redesign this in the future to look much more stock than it is now, but it'll work for anyone who wants something to jam out with in the mean time, those who have a more stripped interior, or those who want to modernize and don't care about missing/open looking pieces.
