DataLogger Engine Firing Sensor
grabcad
This high-power rocket sensor identifies whether the engine is firing, supporting staging, recovery, and data logging activities. A Photo Interrupter is utilized instead of a mechanical switch due to the extreme vibrations experienced in flight, which could result in incorrect readings. The sensor attaches to a reloadable motor's forward bulkhead via a 5/16-18 SAE threaded tube. The black component on top of the engine attachment bolt is a rubber shock absorber. The second photo displays the data logger (grey area) and overall sensor assembly.
