DashCam Mirror Clip
thingiverse
I had a Cobra dash cam (Model CDR855BT) with a suction-cup mount that was meant for the windshield glass. Sometimes it stayed attached for weeks, but then I'd find the camera on the floor or seat because it got too hot and the suction-cup let go. I'd had enough of that, so I made something new. Before I actually mounted the camera in my car using this clip, the suction-cup failed one more time, the camera fell off the windshield, and stopped working. If you still have one of these cameras, maybe this clip will save it from falling and breaking, but if not, just buy something else and let Cobra keep their low-quality junk. This clip attaches to the mirror post in my Subaru Outback and secures the camera with the same thumb-screw and nut that would attach to the suction-cup. I might turn this into a customizer someday so it can be tweaked for different cameras and cars, but for now, if it looks like it will work for you, give it a try. I recommend printing in ABS or some other heat-tolerant material since it's meant for use in a car, and cars can sometimes get very hot.
