Dashboard Widgets Wall Clock
thingiverse
For visual enthusiasts, there's a unique clock design to liven up your walls. Inspired by Mac OSX Dashboard widgets, this clock features internals from Quartex Push-On movements and glowing icons, frame, and seconds hand in the dark. The hour and minute hands glow vibrantly red under black UV lighting. Measuring 140mm x 140mm, enjoy its stylish creativity! Check out this video: http://youtu.be/1QA55uW1w20 Intriguingly, the base is printed in two colors using the "Change Filament" method during printing. Black and glow-in-the-dark ABS were used for the photo's base. The enclosure fits Mini-Quartex Push-On movements and houses the clock components. Secure the edges of the enclosure to the back of the dashboard base with tape or glue. No issues with hand placement are expected. Print the hands together using MakerWare in MakerBot Replicator, employing high settings, skeinforge, 0% infill, 1 shell, and 0.2mm layer height. Accelerated x3g rates of 80/150 were used for faster printing. If you lack a 3D printer, explore our Etsy page at http://etsy.com/shop/Pixil3D for potential purchases.
