Compact direct drive extruder for Nema 17 motors. https://youtu.be/2DG1vYbFB0w (the video shows the MK7 drive version) There are two versions, one for 1.75mm filament and another for different filaments. For 1.75mm filament, a 4mm OD/3mm ID PTFE tube piece must be added. Two options exist for each version: the motor points to the left or to the right. A clear view of the filament input hole is allowed. The extruder includes a filament guide and pressure adjustment mechanism. Some glue should be used to fix the knob to an M4 screw. Four different stiffness levels are available for the piece filament_guide, designated as A, B, C, and D, with A being the softest and D the hardest. No supports are needed; the supports are already included in the 3D models. To assemble this extruder, a hobbed Drive Gear (MK8 with approximately 7mm effective diameter, for MK7 see http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1816307) and the following hardware are necessary: 1x 623 bearing 1x M4x10mm-15mm screw, hexagonal head (knob) 1x M4 nut (knob holder) 3x M3x8mm screws (motor) 1x M3x10mm screw (bearing) 3x M3x25mm screws (assembly) 2x M3 nut (assembly) 1x M3 auto-locking (nylon) nut (assembly / filament guide) For makers who like to tinker or experiment, visit my blog at http://www.therandomlab.com
