Darwin's Tree of Life

Darwin's Tree of Life

thingiverse

Based on the tree of life that Charles Darwin devised in his field notebook during his voyage aboard the HSM Beagle, while taking notes and devising his theory of evolution by natural selection. Darwin's tree of life is considered the first conceptualization of what, decades later, would be called phylogeny. Headed with the words "I think", it expressed, with the appearance of a tree and its branches, how an ancestral species adapted to new environments, and from it new species arose, thus diversifying life. This remix is taken from Dp90pusika's tree of life, to which the birds have been removed, one of the branches -non-existent in Darwin's original manuscript- has been eliminated, and some texture and volume has been added to give the appearance of a tree trunk. Some of the branches have been slightly rotated, to give it an even more organic look, although from the right angle, the representation remains faithful to the original manuscript. The tree of life can be used as a simple ornament, or also as a support for rings and other jewelry -the base is small and excessive weight at the ends could cause it to fall, in which case it is recommended that it be attached to a larger base.
