Darunia is introduced as a powerful Goron in Ocarina of Time. As the leader of the Hyrulean Gorons, he's sworn to protect his people and serves alongside King of Hyrule. Contrary to his tough demeanor, Darunia harbors a love for music and dance. His ancestors are renowned heroes, with one legend defeating Volvagia. He also shares a strong bond with his distant relative Link, who was born while the Hero of Time was away for seven years. Following Link's cleansing of the Fire Temple, Darunia takes on the role of new Sage of Fire.
