I've been waiting a long time for this one. I made use of around 50% of my own parts and mixed in another 50% that I found from other meshes, primarily the helmet. I thought to myself, why spend 50 hours perfecting my own design when there are nearly 500 Darth Vader helmet meshes out there on the web? In fact, I ended up using *MustangDaves* low poly Darth Vader helmet from thingiverse.com/thing:248510, which was originally taken from a game mesh. Thanks again to *MustangDaves*! Once all the modeling was done, I gave it a thorough once-over and added some necessary details with my sculpting tool - I left some internal supports between meshes intact for this print. Since the supports can be printed at 0% infill, that's what I planned on doing. Thankfully, this one printed perfectly without any issues, and now it proudly sits on my Star Wars shelf. To ensure you have a successful print, please check out the instructions in the following links for some valuable info and tips. This print job took me 5.5 hours to complete the main bust, 3 hours for the helmet, and around an hour to finish painting. Regarding those small microphone pieces attached to the little mouth of Darth Vader - mine came loose when I removed them from the support structures inside my 3D printer's jaw piece. But that was no problem at all! All I had to do was take two tiny scraps of filament, melt one end on a lighter, shape each end into small balls, and then super glue them onto a mechanical part inside the mouth of Darth Vader, which brought the entire contraption back to life. The little metallic tips attached to these microphone pieces are actually just two black fragments that have silver paint on their very end - nothing more than some basic filament modification to achieve the right effect.
