Thanks for checking this out! This hilt was inspired by the amazing sabers posted on 3DPRINTINGWORLD. The reason I created this one: I loved 3DPRINTINGWORLD's Sith Saber, but I wanted to make one that used the same blades as the original so that I could switch out the colors between the sabers without having to print multiple copies of the same hues. Also, I aimed to design it so the different parts could be printed with various filaments to avoid tedious paint jobs. Now, I tried really hard to get the hilt printed with Silver Filament, but I had no luck whatsoever. None were good enough. In the end, I used a silver spray paint from my local craft store. For the other parts, I used the same eSun PLA+ Black that I always use, and I'm sure whatever brand you like will work just fine. The only parts I borrowed from the original Sith Saber are the end cap and the internal thread of the hilt. I haven't included the blades with this remix as they're the same from the Original Collapsing Saber (not the Sith one). DV End Cap - Print it as is, but you might need to reduce it to 99% depending on your filament. DV Hood - This is the angled piece at the end when the blades come out. Print with supports for the nodule/key ring hole. (You could also print or paint it silver.) DV Collar - This is the upper part that extends down over the hilt cylinder. Probably need to print at 101%. DV Switch - This is the center belt with the switch and from it extend the grip bars. Probably need to print at 101%. DV Shaft - This is the hilt cylinder. Key Ring - Same key ring from my other remix. Print at 75%. Sanding Tools 1 & 2 - These are tools I designed and printed to help me sand the Shaft. Sanding - I chose to sand the shaft, and I had varying results of awesomeness on different shafts. I created the sanding tool to help with this process. I used a pack of sandpaper from Amazon that ranged from 400-3000 grit. Painting: If you're happy with the Shaft in your favorite Silver Filament, then you probably won't need to paint it. I spray-painted the shaft and cap with a silver spray paint from my local craft store. Assembly: First, slide the SWITCH part on until the grip bars almost touch the rings around the base of the shaft. Center it on the 4 vent holes in the SHAFT. Second, slide the COLLAR on top and center it on the 4 vent holes. Third, clean off the supports and file/sand the remaining supports off until the HOOD fits into the top hole and center the nodule with the COLLAR and SWITCH. Fourth, spread the KEY RING apart and slide it into the hole. Glue the two ends together. Last, glue the parts in place. I used super glue. For the grip bars on the SWITCH, gently slide a toothpick between the bar and the SHAFT, then drip the glue on the inside of the bar and let it run down along the inside of the bar. Remove the toothpick and hold the bar against the shaft. Be careful, as the bars can break off. However, if they do, you might be able to get away with gluing it in place.
