This is my latest original Did3D design, a scale model of Darth Vader from the Empire Strikes Back. Standing at an impressive 700mm tall on a 1:3 scale, this replica captures every detail of the iconic character from the 1980 movie. From the intricately rendered folds of his leather armor to all the accompanying accessories, this model is a masterpiece of high-quality craftsmanship. The base of the statue is meticulously designed to replicate the platform at the end of the film in Cloud City, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the overall design. The 20-page assembly manual includes over 120 images to guide you through each step of the assembly process, as well as detailed explanations of the electrical wiring involved. As you assemble this model, it comes alive with LED lights that flash in synchronization with a soundtrack from the movie, courtesy of an Arduino board equipped with custom codes. But that's not all - the voices and sound effects are also diffused through the Arduino, using over 45 MP3 samples from the film (currently available only in French, but an English version will be released soon). To bring this incredible model to life, you'll need just two types of PLA filament: 50 grams of gray PLA and 1.5 kilograms of clear PLA. Important note: This model does not include the cape or inner robe, which are notoriously difficult to print. Instead, these components can be cut out from black fabric using precise plans provided with the design.
