Darth Maul
thingiverse
With rumors swirling about Darth Maul's potential return in a 2020 Star Wars spin-off, I found myself drawn to bringing this character to life in my own unique way. A big shoutout to Geoffro, whose cloak design from another model inspired me to complete my own bust off. Despite my best efforts, I struggled to replicate the look on my own, so I opted to borrow his design instead. This model originated as a low-poly version in an obscure file format, scanned from Ray Park's mold, which I expanded upon to create this fearsome creature. In my opinion, it turned out pretty awesome! To simplify the printing process, I added a split option that should help eliminate support material. While I'm confident this print will work as intended, there's always a chance of unexpected issues. Please check the sizing and let me know if you'd like to take on the challenge. If so, feel free to share your build photos - I'm eager to see how it turns out! I also have an alternative version with a hollowed-out head, suitable for printing at full size, which I'll be uploading separately. Additionally, I've created a separate file featuring the horns that can be PVA'd onto a scalp for a cosplay idea. If anyone's interested, please let me know and I'll make sure to share it!
