Darth

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgorWVup-5g While enjoying a recent family vacation with all 26 of us, my wife and I took the family members to various attractions, including a museum featuring a captivating automata that caught everyone's attention. The kids and grandkids enthusiastically suggested designing and 3D printing a version of the automata using Darth Vader instead of the generic figure on display, and "Darth" was born as a result. Although significantly smaller than and less complex than the museum piece, Darth presented a challenging print, assembly, and alignment process. The design consisted of 26 unique 3D printed parts (81 total 3D printed components) that required eight custom-made 3D printed turnbuckles with both left- and right-hand threads for precise fine-tuning adjustments. The process involved printing, assembling, and aligning the various Darth components is detailed below. As always, I likely forgot a few files or encountered unforeseen issues, so please don't hesitate to point out any questions or errors as I'm prone to making mistakes. Designed using Autodesk Fusion 360 software, sliced with Cura 3.5.1, and printed in PLA on an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
