Dart-A-Ray PLA Glider Extraordinaire
thingiverse
A Plane that Soars Really High inspired by stratus and monarch by exosequitur, I teach engineering at a High School academy and promote aeronautical engineering with a PLA Plane design brief and flight challenge. After a few attempts, this is the crowning achievement. It flies better than anything I've printed before but you have to print it in good quality PLA with .25 layers, 1 or 2 perimeters and top bottom layers, and between 10 and 25 % infill. Love it, change color after the first layer if you'd like but know that while Simplify3D will adjust the first layer that first layer must be rich in material and laid down on the bed a bit smoothened so it adheres to itself and creates a strong, fused bottom layer. Fly it with hand or with maybe a rubber band and bend the entire fuselage a bit to enable more or less lift. Rubber band provides more lift than a hand throw from behind the wind of course. Enjoy!!!!!
