It's based on the replica prop made available by EFX Collectables. Stand now added! Complete with a working hinge, this double bladed lightsaber hilt can be displayed opened or closed. The hinge locks together using magnets. This design is for display purposes only and does not include electronics. The model has been separated into multiple parts to make finishing and assembly easier. It also allows for more versatility in printing medium such as resin. I have test printed the hinge and a tolerance test to ensure all parts fit well. I recommend using Gorilla Glue or epoxy for final assembly. The hinge is designed to hold 5mm by 5mm round magnets, three on each side. There are screw holes provided on the model so you can add your own cosmetic screws if desired. The metal clip detail holes are designed for 2mm diameter screws. There is a cosmetic screw hole on the side and bottom of Main Hilt 001. These screw holes fit 3mm screws with a 6mm flat head. The switch piece has two screw holes at the top and bottom, which are 3mm in size with a 4.5mm head. There is also a hole running through the length of the piece for an 8mm studding rod that's around 274mm long. The hinge piece takes a 3mm screw and there's space for an M3 nut in one end. There are two variation pieces: *Main-Hilt-001-WITH-DETAILS*: This is the main hilt 001 piece with the switch assembly, metal clip details, and cosmetic screws pre attached. *Main-Hilt-002*: This piece combines Main-Hilt-002-A, B and Red Cannisters into one. IMPORTANT Both lightsaber hilts are identical except for Main-Hilt-Grip-001 and 002. They connect to their respective hinged pieces differently, so you need to print both 001 and 002 to have both blades. The rest of the parts connect in exactly the same way. The stand assembly is simple: the two supports arms screw into the base using 10mm M3 screws and the nameplate can be screwed in. If you have any issues or requests for custom sizes, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help. UPDATE - 11/12/19 I've added a couple more variation pieces for those with limited Z height. The tallest piece, Main-Hilt-Grip-001 + 002, has been split in half allowing them to be printed in two pieces. They should slot together like all the other parts. It should fit an M3 nut now. UPDATE - 23/03/2020 I've made a few adjustments to the hinge, changing the magnet capacity from three on each side to six. UPDATE - 30/03/2020 I've uploaded a stand finally! The stand is designed to display the piece in its folded pose. The nameplate prints well in resin but I'm not sure how it'll print on FDM. UPDATE - 27/05/2020 By request, I have uploaded pre-assembled versions of Both lightsabers. All you need to additionally print are the hinges parts A + B: - Dark-Rey-Lightsaber-PRE-A - Dark-Rey-Lightsaber-PRE-B These are untested and I have no idea if they will print well in one piece. But it was requested, so hopefully someone can let me know how it goes..
