Dark Saber
thingiverse
I printed this from a file that already exists. The DARKSABER (a collapsing sword prop!) by yeetkus on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4754462I changed the orientation on a couple of the pieces. The end piece was rotated 180 degrees and the front (TOP) was placed with the rear (the part that connects to the middle part) on the build plate. I printed them one at a time due to my time constraints. I didn't print the small white pieces, I painted them instead. The only problem I had was after I printed the blade pieces (again one at a time), I found that they would slide right out and not stop. I didn't re-print them, I just put about a 1/2 inch piece of masking tape wrapped around the end until it stopped. Seemed to work just fine. I also wrapped a piece of masking tape around the end to hold it in place and not permanently glue it just in case I wanted to remove the blade for some reason. The riser for the stand...in you slicer make it a mirror image so you will have a left and a right riser. I sliced it with Prusa Slicer. That is the 3mf file. After printing the parts, I used my triangle sander to sand the layer lines, primed them and sanded them again until I got it as smooth as I could. It's not perfect a I was in a hurry to finish this for a friend of mine for their Halloween costume. Then painted the parts with silver spray paint, taped it off and painted the lines with black spray paint.
