DARINS - stealth boat with reactionless propulsion drive
thingiverse
The boat model is based on modern stealth frigates. It's propelled by an internal reactionless propulsion drive, a device that produces motion without expelling any propellant. In simpler terms, the model moves due to internal forces, interacting only with Earth gravity and water friction. This type of drive can be used for spacecraft movement, too. Underwater drones without propellers or waterjets are also possible, minimizing disturbances to sea life. About 3D models: The model was printed in ABS plastic for durability. Internal elements were added for extra strength; they can be removed if needed. To prevent leakage, applying silicone sealant is recommended. All parts of the model are glued together. Dimensions: 310x95x90 mm. A small contest awaits: Describe how this drive works and win the author's model free, no shipping costs involved! Here are the simple rules to follow: 1. The description must be grounded in reality. 2. It must adhere strictly to Newton's laws of motion and conservation of momentum. 3. The description should only be in English. All you need is Wikipedia or a basic physics course. With some thought, asteroid mining or sending spaceships to distant planets becomes achievable. Good luck! https://youtu.be/RHSO-QBfZAw
