Daniel 8 - Horn from Far Away

As four horns surge forward towards the cardinal directions ("the winds"), an opposing force gains momentum. Emerging from one of these quadrants ("winds") is a horn rising from humble beginnings. It drives southward, then east and finally towards the magnificent land before ascending swiftly to the heavens. This trajectory mirrors Rome's expansion, which initially swept southward, conquering Carthage in the Punic Wars, before thwarting Antiochus the Great's ambitions during the Roman-Seleucid conflicts, and then extended its reach to the glorious land, after which Emperors began to proclaim themselves divine. This practice was later adopted by the Pope, who filled the power vacuum left by Rome's capital being relocated to Constantinople. The Pope assumed the title once held by the Emperors - "Pontifex Maximus".
