This replica of the Dancer's Enchanted Swords is inspired by the iconic weapon wielded by the Dancer of the Boreal Valley in Dark Souls 3. For a step-by-step guide on assembling this sword, check out the video tutorial below. When printing, you can expect smooth results with most settings, but slower, higher detail settings will yield an even better finish. Support should not be necessary beyond a 45-degree incline, and a thin skirt is all that's needed to print each piece easily, although your printer settings may vary. For the best results, print in PLA, but ABS will also work well if there's minimal warping. To view a video tutorial on this sword, click here. To assemble this sword like mine, you'll need to print the files Blade 1-4 in clear filament for an LED strip to shine through. You won't need to remove any interior support from Blade 1. In addition, you'll require super glue, a metal wire, a metal rod or wooden dowel (1/8th inch wide x 6 inches long), XTC 3D, and So Strong resin dye in black, orange, and purple. Begin inserting the LED strip through the top of the blade and threading it through each piece as you glue them together. The super glue is more than enough to bind them securely, and the organic shape of the blade makes it easy to line up, but there are markings on each piece where you can drill in your own pegs if desired. Once the blade is glued and the LEDs are in place, apply some XTC 3D and sand between coats until smooth. Repeat this process about four times for perfect results. The final coat can be dyed to your choice of color to help diffuse the LEDs and tint them to match your preferred sword - orange for fire or purple for darkness. The grip top and bottom are best printed in an opaque dark filament and don't need to be glued together, as they should fit snugly. However, if your print settings don't provide a tight enough fit, you can scale the grips by 1% or wrap tape around the peg where the pieces interlock for extra strength. The grips can be smoothed with XTC 3D like above and dyed black to hide print lines, although painting is not necessary. The opening of the grip bottom is large enough for an LED connector clip and three 3V watch batteries for a seamless way to turn your electronics on and off. To finish yours, I recommend applying a soft gradient of acrylic paint to the purple/orange parts, as well as highlighting the raised details of the sword with gloss black and chrome airbrush paint for a realistic metal finish.
