Dan's Blokify Designs
thingiverse
Dan Medwin used Blokify app to design two items which have been posted with his permission. The app is user-friendly, generating an STL file for 3D printing. Cleaning support structure was challenging; leaving it in place made the second design look better. Removing it requires patience and precision. Dan Medwin designed these items while Steve Medwin handled the 3D print and photography. To print, MakerWare 2.4 was used with settings such as 10% infill, 0.2mm layer height, 1 shell, 40 feedrate, 55 travel feed, and a temperature of 220°C. A raft with full support was utilized, taking less than 4 hours for printing at a 44mm height. To change the support angle, create a new profile using MakerBot PLA Standard and modify "doSupport": true, "supportAngle": 45.0, "layerHeight": 0.20, "rapidMoveFeedRateXY": 55, "extruderTemp0": 220, "extruderTemp1": 220, [several other places], and "numberOfShells": 1, "feedrate": 40 [several other places]. This modification enhances overhang support and improves accuracy and quality.
