Damian Wayne is a fictional character created within the world of Batman by DC Comics. He is the biological son of Talia al Ghul and Bruce Wayne. Damian's creation is credited to Grant Morrison, who first introduced him in Batman # 655 (September 2006). The concept of Batman having a son with Talia had previously been explored in Mike W. Barr's graphic novel Batman: Son of the Demon, released in 1987. However, since Morrison was unaware of this story when he wrote his, their narratives differ significantly. In fact, Morrison initially based his storyline on the marriage depicted in DC Special Series # 15 (1978), titled I Now Pronounce You Batman And Wife!, written by Dennis O'Neil. Damian is defined by his intense emotions, which are fueled by his rigorous training in martial arts. Initially, he is portrayed as an arrogant individual, proud and envious of Tim Drake's position as Robin III, to the point where he nearly kills him in a fierce battle within the Batcave.
