I want always wanted to have a whiteboard in my home office, but was shocked at how expensive they are, and was wary of installing once. Then I discovered the awesome Post-It Dry Erase Surface film by 3M, but was worried the texture of the paint on my wall might create an uneven surface on the film, and I didn't want to risk damaging the paint job when removing since I rent my apartment. These constraints all led to the the idea of mounting the film to a piece of 1/2" foamcore, and creating brackets to hold the foamcore which are themselves held to the wall with 3M Command Strips.I ended up with a great whiteboard that's non-damaging to my apartment, but still provides a great writing surface for brainstorming. I've also used these brackets to hold up foamcore and act as a temporary pin board. To make your own whiteboard you'll need:1 x Post-it Dry Erase Surface (4ft x 3ft) – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NC1D5QU/1 x Command Medium Mounting Refill Strips, 18-Strip – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J5RAR0M1 x Elmer's White Foamboard 1/2in – 40in x 60in – http://www.dickblick.com/products/elmers-white-foamboard/ You can, of course, buy a smaller or larger size of Post-It Dry Erase Surface film, but I've found the 4'x3' is a great size for an at home whiteboard. Also, you will have to either cut the Post-It film down to the size of a smaller piece of foamcore, or cut a larger piece of foamcore down to fit the size of a piece ofA note about the foamcore – you can purchase a case of 1/2' foamboard online, but you can also get individual sheets in-store at almost any art storeCategory: Office
