Dalton Adz is located at the Hardaway site in Stanly County, North Carolina. The time period for this artifact is Early Archaic, which spans from 8000 to 6000 BC. This adz is crafted from metavolcanic rock. Its measurements are length of 74.4 mm, width of 40.4 mm, and thickness of 18.1 mm. A specimen similar to Dalton Adz was donated by Herbert M. Doerschuk to the North Carolina Archaeological Collection at Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The model for this adz was created by Chris LaMack.
