Dalek Gun From Doctor Who
myminifactory
This is my version of the Dalek Gun. I'm preparing everything for Comic-Con this year, and I wanted to get all parts ready in time. I could have used standard rods called "Arrow Rods," but that would have cost between $2 and $5 per rod, and I needed 8 of them. By making my own rods, I can print each one for about $.05 cents, which is a significant savings. In the long run, it was cheaper to make my own rods rather than pay for arrow rods and gas. The updates include clear tubes that will light up with LED lights once they're installed. As soon as I get that done, I'll post some pictures. Until then, take a look. 8/20/2017: The updated inner Gun Tube now features LED lights for 7 different color gun settings. New items have been added to the design, including an LED holder. The holder is hollow, allowing you to insert a tube and add a smoke machine or use an E-Cig to blow smoke out of the gun. L.E.D. spacers are used to align the L.E.D. holder center in the Gun Tube; after gluing them in place, clear epoxy resin must be poured into the Gun Tube to secure the L.E.D.s and ensure they stay centered. The clear epoxy will also allow the L.E.D.s to spread their light throughout the tube for a major lighting effect. Once it's all dry, there will be 3 buttons per light, allowing 7 different color changes for varying levels of simulated gun fire.
