Dalek Eye 2005 design with bore
thingiverse
2005 Dalek Eye Mod I've upgraded my original design by implementing three key improvements: splitting the eye in two for hassle-free printing without supports, creating a hole that extends all the way through for precise alignment when attaching the two pieces, and countersinking the eye hole at the front to accommodate a light source before the lens is placed. Print Settings Printer: Da Vinci 1.0 AIO Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 30% Honeycomb Notes: To ensure smooth printing, I recommend flipping these settings on in your printer software: Adjoining Faces, No Supports Required for Easier Finishing. Post-Printing Gently sand the adjoining faces where they have spread onto the print bed to create a seamless finish. Then, use an acetone chamber to achieve a glossy surface. When mounting on a 19mm tube section, this setup will hold the alignment while the glue sets securely. Design Process I used Autodesk Inventor in collaboration with Project Dalek's detailed PDF plans as my guide. I started by sketching out the design, then rotated it to transform it into a 3D model. Next, I bored a hole through the center and added the necessary lugs. Finally, I patterned them along the work plane to create twelve equal parts.
