Dale Earnhardt Jr 88 Multi-Color
thingiverse
My husband is a huge NASCAR enthusiast, and naturally, his favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Junior. I wanted to create something NASCAR-related for him, so I searched Thingiverse and found this sleek 88 logo with a stand. Deciding to modify it to remove the stand (it sits nicely on its own) and adjust it for multi-color printing (using a single extruder printer). To print this design, simply start by printing the base in black and leave it attached to your heat bed. Next, load the color for the face in white and zero your Z-axis to the top of the base before loading and slicing the face. You might need to adjust your start code or edit your G-code after slicing to stop your printer from rezeroing the Z-axis at the beginning of the print. Alternatively, you can disable the heat bed. Once the base is printed, repeat the process for the accent in red. This design is easily scalable (just make sure each piece is centered on the heat bed so they stack properly), measuring about 10 cm wide when printed at 100%. I'm hoping my husband will love it!
