The 3D model is a scan of the initial clay sculptures created by students prior to learning about stem cells. Following a basic introduction to animal and plant cells, their roles, and functions, students received an information sheet detailing the structures found within stem cells without images or descriptions. They were then asked to design what they thought a stem cell looked like using clay, making color choices based on symbolic meanings and which hues best represented each structure's role and function within the cell.
