The Diamond DA-20, a low wing tricycle landing gear aircraft, serves flight training and personal air travel purposes. Initially powered by Rotax engines, later models featured Continental O-240-B engines. The Katana competes with the Cessna 150, offering similar roles but constructed with composites. It boasts a higher cruising speed and a bubble canopy for enhanced visibility. However, cockpit temperature could be an issue due to the greenhouse effect of the canopy. Proper ventilation resolves this problem. The Katana also offers a glide ratio of 11:1 or 14:1, outperforming the Cessna 150's 7:1 ratio. Moreover, it features an Aspen Avionics glass cockpit as a primary asset. This highly detailed model includes animatable parts like propeller, flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudder, and canopy.
