The Diamond DA-20 is a two-seat low wing tricycle landing gear aircraft used for flight training and personal air travel. Originally, it was powered by a Rotax engine but later models featured the Continental O-240-B engine. The Katana competes with the Cessna 150 and offers similar functionality. It is built using composites and boasts a higher cruising speed than its rival. Its bubble canopy provides excellent visibility, though it may cause cockpit temperature to rise. Ventilation options are available on both sides of the canopy to mitigate this issue. The Katana's glide ratio of 11:1 or 14:1 outperforms the Cessna 150's 7:1 ratio, making it a superior choice. It also includes an Aspen Avionics glass cockpit as a primary feature.
