The Diamond DA-20 is a dual-seat, low-wing aircraft designed for flight training and personal air travel. Initially equipped with Rotax engines, later models use Continental O-240-B powerplants. Competing against the Cessna 150, the Katana offers higher cruising speeds, composite construction, and a bubble canopy enhancing visibility. However, cockpit temperatures may rise due to the greenhouse effect; ventilation helps alleviate this issue. The glide ratio of 11:1 or 14:1 (depending on model) outperforms the Cessna's 7:1 ratio, making the Katana a superior choice. It also offers an Aspen Avionics glass cockpit as a primary feature. This highly detailed model features animatable parts like propellers, flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudders, and canopies.
