cgtrader
The Diamond DA-20 is a dual-seat low-wing tricycle landing gear aircraft used for flight training and personal air travel, initially powered by Rotax engines but later upgraded to Continental O-240-B engines. The Katana, competing against the Cessna 150, provides similar functionality but with a composite construction and higher cruising speed. Its bubble canopy offers excellent visibility for pilots, although cockpit temperatures may rise due to its greenhouse effect; ventilation is available on both sides of the canopy. The glide ratio for Katana models varies from 11:1 to 14:1, surpassing the Cessna 150's 7:1 ratio. Notably, the Katana features an Aspen Avionics glass cockpit as a primary element. This highly detailed model includes animatable parts like the propeller, flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudder, and canopy, mirroring the glass instrument panel of the Aspen glass cockpit. The aircraft is available in multiple formats for download.
