A colleague asked me if measuring a curve was possible, specifically for the Daft_Punk_Helmet's visor/shield, so the visor could be laser cut from acrylic sheet and heated on a form to shape. When I imported the STL file into Solidworks, the dimensions were translated directly to inches, which I couldn't work around. So, I remodeled the visor, scaled it down, and generated a flat surface that could be measured easily. I'm hoping others will find this useful as well.
