If you like this design, buy me a beer http://www.thingiverse.com/bendiger/about\nUPDATE 09-17-16 \nBig thanks go to Nathan720 (http://www.thingiverse.com/Nathan720), who worked tirelessly to create an instructables post showing how to build these helmets!http://www.instructables.com/id/Two-Daft-Punk-Helmets-in-One-Month/\nThis is the moment everyone's been waiting for - The Daft Punk Guy Manuel 3D Printable helmet designed specifically for small printers!\nAll the parts are printed on one side and need to be mirrored to print the other side. To do this, simply set the X scale to negative.\nThe design is tailored for small 3D Printers with print beds 6x6 inches or larger. All parts are easily assembled using zip ties or glue. Support Material is crucial for most of these parts, as they were not optimized for supportless printing due to their complex shape.\nOver sixty hours of printing so far and one reel of three millimeter ABS used up!\nThe helmet is designed to be compatible with AlexPlusLEDs fans and chin lights which can be found at http://alexplusleds.bigcartel.com/\nThe STL files are already orientated for printing on a 6x6 bed, saving you time.\nYou'll soon receive the visor mold in your download. This will allow you to create your own clear visor form for vacuum forming at home. Want the Thomas Bangalter Helmet? Here it is:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:338831\n---UPDATES---\n06-27-15 Now that all files are updated and scaled to match the Thomas Helmet, let's take a look and see how they look! Hopefully everything looks great and functions smoothly. 10-16-14 To simplify wiring on the back of your head, I've uploaded a quick Back Wire Harness. Its functionality will be updated to include grooves for holding wires in place.\n10-04-14 Here are the visor mold and support parts. Mirror these and glue them together carefully to prepare for vacuum forming. It's recommended that you coat the inside of the mold with a thick layer of epoxy or bondo before starting, to avoid cracking during forming. If any issues arise from slicing your models, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm aware some parts may look a bit rough as they were uploaded quickly, but functionality shouldn't be affected.\nAs for the ear cups and side panels, here are their updates too! The ear cup has not been fully tested with electronics yet.
