Daenerys Targaryen, daughter of King Aerys II, is one of the last surviving members of House Targaryen. As a key figure in the series, she narrates thirty-one chapters across A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, and A Dance with Dragons. Thirteen years before the events unfolded, Daenerys was born on Dragonstone amidst a fierce storm, earning her the nickname 'Stormborn'. Following this, Robert Baratheon seized control of Dragonstone, forcing Daenerys and her brother Viserys to flee to Braavos. They spent years wandering the Free Cities. Daenerys' journey begins in A Game of Thrones (1996), where she is brought to Pentos and coerced into marriage with Khal Drogo, a powerful Dothraki warlord. This union was orchestrated by her brother Viserys, who sought to acquire Drogo's Khalasar to conquer Westeros. As Daenerys becomes increasingly familiar with the Dothraki language and customs, she develops the confidence to stand up against her brother.
