Daedric GreatSword Skyrim Remixed With Pegs
thingiverse
EDIT 02-25-2015 I'm using a very light 1-layer 5% infill raft to get my supports to stick to my bed just for the "Hilt & Pt of Blade" print. I'm on a glass bed, so sticking was getting a little tricky for the thin supports. EDIT 02-24-2017 Fixed Pegs Pegs Need a Raft & Print Laying Flat I used the whole sword STL and cut it into 4 pieces (at most 235mm). Since my printer supports 240mm, I made them 235mm high. Don't let the software scale the pegs; they are in fact that small. The holes aren't big since the blade is thin. So, they're basically the same as the one I remixed it from except that I added pegs and holes for the pegs. This is going to be a work in progress until I can get the peg sizes right. But the one that says it's the actual size of the hole is what I used to make the holes. I made the pegs 0.10mm smaller than the hole. Hopefully, that works. You'll need 14 pegs total if you use all of your holes. You don't necessarily need to, but it may help, especially when you want to make sure you have it turned the right way. This is my first remix that I'm putting on here because someone asked for it. So thanks to the original poster for putting this up there. The pegs are only for alignment so you can glue it in place. Good luck, and if this works, don't forget to thank the original OP, and post images!!! I'm using 20% infill to start. Both of the Hilt parts need supports. I didn't need any for the blade parts though. I'm going to print this now! Blade (Actual Blade starts 12 minutes in - 11:40 if we're being semi-exact) Blade Hilt & Part of Blade. I'm going to let it continue printing the hilt even with all that stringing for the support. It did lose a piece at the bottom due to faulty supports. I'll have to print that part separately. One thing to learn from this is to look at the supports your slicer gives you. If it looks unfeasible, it is. I found a way to add more supports in Simplify3D. I added the G-code for this part and a separate support file. If your slicer can import supports, do that so you can have a look at the file before you send it to print. After the whole sword finishes printing, I'll print the new part and add a new video. Continuing Hilt & Pt of Blade Pegs & Hilt Redoing Blade & Pt of Hilt with supports in file section Ugh, YouTube giving me grief now. Can't seem to get live streaming working. But the printed thing is in the picture. I tried to smooth out the part with the supports with a soldering iron before my router speed controller came (to make it not as hot)...haha, dark spots...that's what I'll call the burn marks.
