Dad Glasses Holder

Dad Glasses Holder

Dad's birthday is around the corner, and I've been noticing that the word "DAD" bears a striking resemblance to glasses perched on a nose, which sparked an idea - transforming the word into a glasses holder. I created a 2D mockup in Inkscape of the glasses, using it as a template for measurements. Luckily, it fits perfectly with 40pt text, scaled up four times from its original size. I've included the original SVG and exported DXF files, which can be easily imported into OpenSCAD. By the way, those aren't Dad's actual glasses; they were just the only pair I had on hand to model. And no, they're not mine either - a little mystery there! **Print Settings** * **Printer Brand:** FlashForge * **Printer Model:** Creator Pro * **Rafts:** No * **Supports:** Yes * **Resolution:** 0.30mm * **Infill:** 10% * **Notes:** Print the design as it's laid out to minimize supports, just like in the slicer screenshot. You can also try flipping it horizontally so the text is reversed and the shiny side faces up - check out the "bad" version for a comparison. I printed this model with low infill and resolution since I was planning to paint it anyway, aiming for a print time of around three hours. The material used was Hatchbox neon green PLA, combined with brown/gold acrylic paint without any primer.
