Dachshund Christmas Tree Ornaments
prusaprinters
We love dachshunds! So this year, we decided we'd create a Christmas ornament set dedicated to the glorious weiner dog (AKA the low rider or hotdog bois!). This set of cute and colorful Xmas tree decorations captures that trademark dachshund charm in three delightfully doggy hanging ornaments. Fancy buying the completed prints and this snazzy storage case? Head on over to my store, here. A guide to printing - yeah this project needs a printing guideI won't lie. This is a higher level difficulty project. Printing these out will require a little bit of patience, and possibly some trial and error. The 3mf file will do much of your heavy lifting if you have that luxury, but if you are using STLs, check out the images for suggested locations to place your supports. The real key, however, lies in the brims. Use 20mm to 30mm brims to support the legs as much as possible and it never hurts to enable good ol' Z hops. Printing slower will help too. That point where the dachshund's nose hits the present is a doozie. Check out the third picture to see the yellow zones. That's where I force my slicer to slow the print right down. You may stick it at full speed but you'll get better results by tapping the brakes!Print the star flat. It should slot neatly between the doggies' noses.Print the stocking on its flattened base. You'll see that the fur rim is situated dead level, so if you have an AMS, this is a good point to change the stocking from red to white (or whatever other festive color floats your proverbial boat). Good luck, smooth printing, and may Santa and his elven minions be forever in your favor. You can sell the prints (but not the files) if you own a current commercial license
