Da Vinci Z Axis Linear Rod Pillow Block Upgrade
thingiverse
Here is my latest design, an upgrade for my Da Vinci 1.0 print bed that has made a significant impact on its performance, removing most of the slop. I know some may doubt the significance of this change, but it's noticeable even with the most discerning eye. The white model pictured here is actually V1 and only compatible with the lower mounts, whereas my latest design, printed in red, can be used on both the upper and lower (tested personally with lower results). Please note that I won't be updating this design further as I have decided to send back my plastic printer, a move prompted by its inconsistent behavior, which was finally a deal-breaker for me. After dealing with it for too long, my OCD simply couldn't take it anymore, so I'm setting my sights on the MakeGear M2, an all-metal printer that seems much more promising. The printing parameters were Repetier firmware with slic3r; feel free to experiment but if you want strong prints, aim for 100% infill and 0.2-0.3 layer height. Be sure to clean the screw/bolt holes since they can get quite rough. For easier customization, I've included the 123D file. As for the screw used for clamping, it's from a Raptor 50 helicopter frame with a 2.87mm diameter and 18mm length.
