Da Vinci SD Card Holder
thingiverse
UPDATED 4/1/2017 After having some fitment issues with the latest batch of extender cables and having to do way too much filling to make them fit, I increased the size of the housing portion by 1mm in width and height. This change results in no alteration to the front bezel. The new file now ends in V4. This design is created to hold an SD card extender cable. To extend the SD card on the motherboard to a location on the front of the printer, I used two 25-inch cables: one MicroSD to SD and one SD to SD. To assemble the holder, remove the cover from the SD extender cable and slide it in through the holder. Feed the cable end through the slot and push the circuit board into place until it is seated. Next, attach the two cables together and conceal everything under the top covers. The cables were run to follow the same route as the front display cable. Removal of all outer covers is necessary to locate it in the same position. A small notch must also be cut in the metal frame. I used a Dremel with a carbide cutting wheel to cut the cover and metal frame. If you know where to source a MicroSD to SD extender cable that is 48 inches long, please let me know. This would simplify the installation process, as the only sources I can find for 25-inch cables are located in China.
