Da Vinci's Oscillator
grabcad
Leonardo da Vinci designed a two-phase oscillator, requiring only constant rotation of a handle. He suggested that it could be useful when connected to an external power source, such as for a saw. The design is found on page 49 of Da Vinci's Códice Madrid I. For my model, I chose a fused deposition modeling (FDM) printer with PLA filament. It requires no supports and minimal post-processing; some parts may need gluing with hot or super glue. Assembly instructions are included in the 'Instructions' word document. Version 1.0 was the initial upload, while version 1.1 updated the Axle Gear part for improved printability and strength.
