Da Vinci's Armoured Car
thingiverse
Leonardo da Vinci designed the machine under Ludovico Sforza's patronage in 1487, often referred to as a precursor to modern tanks. His armored vehicle featured a conical cover resembling a turtle's shell. The covering was made of wood and reinforced with metal plates that added thickness. Slanting angles were designed to deflect enemy fire. Two large inside cranks powered by four strong men propelled the machine. Light cannons, positioned around the perimeter, were part of its arsenal.
