Da Vinci Pro Radius FeedTube Hack
thingiverse
*UPDATE The original "thing" broke down after about two hundred hours of printing. Upon close inspection, I found that it didn't wear out as expected, but its walls were just too thin to withstand the stress. To fix this issue, I've created a revised version and included a G-code file with my exact settings for printing the part. Pro_feeder_tube_2 is designed without any holes or threads, thanks to M5X0.8 threads built right in. This long radius feed tube was made to overcome jamming, clogging, and poor adhesion on Da Vinci Pro's bed surface and individual layers due to feeding restrictions. As an added bonus, this part complements more extensive modifications detailed here: https://youtu.be/tjNEtWyD2pc . Note that the tube will need to be drilled and tapped with 5mmX0.8 threads at the bell end. For optimal results, I recommend printing with ABS at slower speeds (around 10-20mm/s). Print Settings: Printer: DaVinci Pro Resolution: 2mm Infill: 100% Post-Printing: After printing, shave off just enough of the support rail to allow the tube to fit snugly into the pneumatic fitting as shown in the video. Next, tap the bell end with 5mmX0.8 threads.
